Orion to assist in the recruitment of the construction team for the Al Raha Beach development in Abu Dhabi

Inverness-based The OrionGroup, Scotland's largest engineering recruitment specialists, have been asked to assist with the recruitment of up to 15,000 construction professionals for the creation of a major tourist destination in Abu Dhabi.

Many Highlanders and Scots are in line for key jobs in the 18 billion dollar Al Raha Beach development which will be one of the first designated areas where expatriates can buy property within the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

The development is set to be one of the Gulf's major attractions with a planned population of 120,000, eight world-class hotels and fast link rail network to the international airport.

Orion will have a dedicated recruitment team housed in the clients offices in Abu Dhabi and chairman Alan Savage says:" We are delighted at the scale of the contract and are mobilising our resources from our offices in Aberdeen and Dubai to co-ordinate the recruitment process, which will be overseen from Inverness.

"We will be looking for skilled Highlanders and Scots for senior level opportunities and we will be sourcing East European and Indian personnel through our worldwide supply chain networks and international partner agreements.

"These are good jobs in a hugely exciting project -- and it completes a hat trick for us of major global awards won in recent months."

The Al Raha Beach development is being delivered through a joint venture between Laing O'Rourke Construction Group and Aldar, the foremost property developer in Abu Dhabi.
